Battle of the Central

Bri Sotera

The Nashville Predators and Colorado Avalanche, two of the most dominant teams to be reckoned with in the Western Conference.

Nashville features a dangerous blue line in Roman Josi and Ryan Ellis as the duo leads the team with 14 points each. To be fair, they’re surely not lacking in offense with Nick Bonino, Calle Jarnkrok, and Matt Duchene all holding a solid 11 points and something tells me they’re just getting started.

On the other hand, Colorado has a lethal first line in Nazem Kadri, Nathan MacKinnon, and Joonas Donskoi holding a combined total of 35 points. It’s safe to say that rookie Cale Makar has been making the most of the season so far with 11 points, 7 of which came from the power play.

Currently, the two teams are one and the same with records of 8-4-2 after having played 14 games.

The Avs will have to continue working through losing two of their biggest stars in Mikko Rantanen (upper-body injury) who is rumored to be day-to-day and Gabriel Landeskog who is out indefinitely (lower-body injury). It’s also in question if Colin Wilson who was drafted in 2008 by Nashville in the 1st round will be facing off against the Preds after being sidelined and not traveling with the team for the road trip to Arizona and Dallas.

Nashville is set to take on the Detroit Red Wings on Monday, November 4 at 6:30 p.m. CT in Detroit. While Colorado will face-off against the Dallas Stars on Tuesday, November 5 at 6:30 p.m. MT in Dallas.

The two are set to face-off on Thursday, November 7- 7:00 p.m. MT at the Pepsi Center in Colorado.
